Estimation of Oil Palm Total Carbon Fluxes Using Remote Sensing

Net primary production (NPP) is one of the approaches used to estimate amount carbon sequestration by plants. This research aims total flux exchanged from different ages oil palm using remote sensing. The study site was at PTPN VI Batang Hari, Jambi, Sumatra, Indonesia. plantations Jambi can be estimated sensing based on light use efficiency (LUE) model. results showed that age affects sequestrated. lowest value found year planting 4.28 gCm-2day-1, and highest 9.38 gCm-2day-1 20 years planting. model LUE output validated Eddy covariance data a low error high accuracy rate with RMSE = 0.05 gCMJ-1, R2 92%, p-value 0.04. We concluded absorption when direct measurement unavailable.
